More bland kit from Adidas and Whitecaps

Tonight the Vancouver Whitecaps released their new away jersey.  I am getting bored of having to condemn Whitecaps kit from Adidas, but here I go again.  I am about to embark on my fourth MLS season as a season ticket holder, and I still can’t stomach buying a Vancouver Whitecaps shirt from the club.  The Whitecaps and Adidas seem hell bent upon ignoring the classic Vancouver Whitecaps kit, which is a real shame.  Instead we are stuck with dull marine blue kit that looks like it was handed out at a cheap corporate event.  The lack of imagination and the lack of ability to work with the theme of the classic uniform is beyond belief and a real disappointment.  It looks like I will have to pay yet another visit to TOFFS in England (http://www.toffs.com/team-index/v/vancouver) in order to buy a decent Vancouver Whitecaps jersey.  ‘Nuff said.

  1. Not only that but they want #135 for it! Maybe one year we’ll get a decent re-design. Just don’t hold your breath.

  2. Absolutely agree with every word. The product on the field looks like it’s coming around, but the Whitecaps as an organization continue to display a stunning lack of appreciation for the club’s history.

  3. Thanks for your comment, Rob… The team seems to have a pathological fear of the classic jersey!
