Dwayne de Rosario quits Toronto Football Club

You can’t blame De Rosario for being a bit peeved in recent years at TFC.  He has been banging plenty of goals in for a team which was going nowhere.   To add insult to injury, players around him such as Mista and de Guzman were getting paid a lot more than he was while they played crap football.

I briefly fantasized about the Vancouver Whitecaps signing him.  Before the image of de Rosario in a Whitecaps shirt could make its way into my mind however,  he had already signed for the New York Red Bulls.  Damn!   We really could have used him.  He is a proven MLS winner with a number of MLS championships under his belt.

True, he is getting a bit older, but he has experience and knows how to score goals in this league.  I suppose the pull of living in the Big Apple was too strong.  I wonder if we were even in with a chance?

Who even knows how a trade works in the single entity system that the MLS works under?
