Whitecaps Beat Montreal…Again!

It really is too good to be true.  For years we have struggled against Montreal, but we have beat them again this season in their own park.  12,000  Montreal Impact fans had to watch our team win 0-1.

Greg Janicki got himself back in the good books of the club after his gaffe last week against Portland Timbers by scoring the winning goal. I have not seen the video of the match but I understand it was from a Wes Knight long throw.

The team has redeemed itself after its mediocre performance against Minnesota last Sunday. Too bad we couldn’t have watched it at home.

Our first choice defensive line up was back with Janicki having served his suspension against Minnesota, which meant Bellisomo moved back into his defensive midfield role. The Whitecaps defence this year really is impressive, and obviously Keeper Jay Nolly has gotten back to his former self with yet another clean sheet.

Beating Montreal twice on their own pitch in one year?  Incredible!

Well done, Vancouver Whitecaps.

  1. A friend managed to go; I’m eagerly awaiting a match report. This feels great, and gives us a bit more room at the top.

  2. It was interesting to see Wesley Charles in the middle of the Impact defence…Must admit I felt a bit of a pang at seeing him there. Glad to see him back in the mix.
