Allez Les Whitecaps! On to Montreal…

With all of the World Cup footy on the tele it is sometimes difficult to remember we still have a team playing.  We do however, and the next game is against the Montreal Impact in Montreal tomorrow.

A Haber-less Whitecaps played to a 0-0 draw with St Louis on the weekend.   From the stats it looks like St Louis had the balance of the match with more corner kicks and shots than us.  The only excitement to come out of this match was the sending off of striker Cornelius Stewart for a second bookable offence.  This leaves us in a rather tight spot because our strikers Haber (gone back to West Brom), James and Stewart will be unavailable against our arch-rival Montreal. It is unclear where goals will come from in order to beat Montreal. Perhaps Edwini Bonsu will get the nod, and it is about time he scored some goals. Take your chance now Eddie, before it is too late!  Eddie bizarrely came on as a sub for Wes Knight against St Louis. Perhaps he has decided to have a go at defensive play. Or perhaps Teitur though Eddie could put some crosses in on the flanks with his speed.

No doubt Montreal will use our lack of strikers as an opportunity to play for a 0-0 tie!
