FA Cup Memories: Hammers and Arsenal 1980

Tomorrow West Ham United and Arsenal play in the FA Cup third round.   The BBC has put together a wonderful retrospective of the 1980 Cup final when the then second division Hammers upset mighty  Arsenal 1-0.  The great Trevor Brooking scored  the winner on an instinctive header which came about as the result of a missed cross-shot.  I think Trevor was trying to protect his face more than anything, but the ball went in nonetheless.  I can remember watching the match with my Dad.  It was a beautiful hot May day at Wembley and both sets of fans were in great voice.   Check out the footage of the post match parade in East London and the pre-match interviews done by former Arsenal great Bob Wilson.  You can also read about the squads.   Well done BBC.  Come on you Irons!!!  Here is the link:
