Wesley Charles Gone

Our bizarre season continues. After another bust-up with team-mate Parke on the training ground, Wesley Charles has been fired by the team. Had it not been for the public fight on the pitch with Gbeke during a recent match, all would be forgiven. These kinds of incidents are common on the training ground, and often show the desire and competitiveness within a team. It is a real shame he is gone because I credit him with being a key part of the championship win last year. He was as solid as a rock, though like many of the players who performed so well in the championship run, he is not up to snuff this year.    This goes for Ethan Gage and Justin Moose, though the latter has suffered injury problems.  Incredibly, we have now lost Kindel, Valente, Clarke, Sebrango and Charles from last years championship starting eleven. It is too much change for one year, and it is no wonder the team is floundering about.   When teams are in disarray, relationships within the team suffer.  People start to blame and bug each other.  Perhaps this led to the bust up in training.

Charles has been the leader of a leaky defence this year, and has not been a happy man.   Perhaps this is the best for him.

I hope he finds a good home because I have enjoyed watching him play, and he was a key man in last years championship.  I had the pleasure of shaking his hand after the final.

All the best in the future, Wesley.
