Marlon James the Real Thing

A number of times the Whitecaps have signed a striker off season who just does not turn out to be what was expected.   While we have had  luck recently with the success of Sebrango and Gbeke, there were a couple (whose names escape me…for good reason!!!) who looked great in the pre-season press, but who laid an egg once they got on the pitch.   I was worried when we lost Sebrango about leadership from the front.  I think that if James stays injury free he will replace Sebrango and then some.  He was dynamite in his first home appearance against Portland, and he scored three in the 2-3 victory over Minnesota tonight.   He is strong and fast, and clearly has an eye for goal.  Gbeke has looked a bit off so far this season, but if James keeps on playing this way and Gbeke gets his scoring touch back, the league had better look out because we will be scoring many goals.    I am sorry I missed the game on USL live, but roll on Wednesday because we may just teach TFC a lesson on their own pitch.
