Ingerland: Capello’s first match

For some time now I have been hoping that Fabio Capello would be given the England job.  I felt that Sven had taken the team as far as it could go, and I thought that McLaren never was the man for the job (what has he ever won as a coach?).   Capello has a fantastic record with many championships under his belt (Scudetto’s with AC Milan, Roma and Juve, La Liga championship with R Madrid,Champs league several times over).   Like Sven, he has the ability to get the best out of the squad.   He is a bit more of a fire and brimstone guy than Sven was and he has the ability to do what they now call “man management”.   He has shown he is his own man by not giving Beckham his 100th cap (I believe he will at a later date if Becks tears up the MLS) for the match with the Swiss.

I believe it will be a long time before England is managed by an Englishman.  English coaches are poor in terms of technique and strategy.  Too bad Alex Ferguson was born a Scot!!!

All the best to Fabio and to Ingerland!!!
