There’s only one Jason Jordan

There is no player I have enjoyed watching more over the years with the 86ers and Whitecaps than Jason Jordan.  He is the fans player, a player capable of giving the game those special moments.   He has the ability to execute lightning fast counter attacks, or to hold the ball up while the rest of the team catch up.  He creates space for the other players because the opposing team has to double-up (sometimes triple-up!) on him to eliminate the threat he presents.   He is capable of turning on a dime and can dribble himself out of almost any situtation.  He has the patience to wait so that his shots are timed perfectly.

Sadly he has been beset recently with injury problems: bad ankles, turf toe.  Operations have eaten into his playing time, and he has had a coach who did not know how to use him properly.  Now that TT the Iceman is coach I hope that Jordan will take on a higher profile and pot some goals.

He is getting a bit older and it takes longer to recover and to get fit.  Apparently he is now training regularly and enjoying the Iceman’s coaching methods.   I hope that JJ gets a chance to regain his old form because he has brought us more joy than any other player.  I was glad to see him talking a good fight on the Caps website recently, so things are looking up!
