What a joy to watch Canada play in the Gold Cup quarter final.   I can’t believe what I am seeing: Canada playing sophisicated football.   What is better is that Marty Nash of the Whitecaps started and played a great game.  When he comes back from this tournament look out, because he will be playing very well.  He did a great job of the holding midfielder role, tackling hard and distributing the ball very well.   De Guzman and De Rosario played very well, and I must say I was impressed with De Rosario’s desire to stay on and fight in spite of an ankle injury.  I don’t imagine Houston will be pleased with that!  Ali Gerba looked strong up front and finished off a wonderful move by Canada.   This is the best I have felt about the men’s team in a very long time: our program has been a shambles but it looks as though there is cause for hope.  Lets see if we can get through to the finals… But all credit to Stephen Hart in any event.
