Whitecaps v California Victory

A disappointing 0-1 loss to the Victory in lovely San Francisco.  In front of a reported 500 some odd fans.

Having won the championship last year the Whitecaps should set themselves a new goal of winning the league points race.  Though we have always had a competitive team for the last while that always threatened to win it all, we have yet to experience in the USL a year where the Whitecaps dominated the opposition and steamrolled over them all towards winning the League.  We seem to lack consistency even when we do have strong teams.  Montreal and Rochester have built teams in the recent past which were teams that were really hard to beat and they came out ahead of the Whitecaps in the final standings.  I believe we need a stronger bench and more quality players.  Our team has been beaten by both expansion teams this year already, and we should be taking these teams to school, having won the championship last year.  Even though we lead in the standings at this point I am not convinced of the quality of this years side.  Bob Lilley cannot be happy…

  1. Where’s the report on the one nil game against Minnesota. Falling down on the job, I say.
