Congratulations Eduardo Sebrango
February 22, 2012 at 11:08 pm | Posted in MLS Season 2012 | 2 CommentsNews has come out of the Montreal Impact camp that they have signed 38 year-old Eddie Sebrango. Eddie had retired last year but was called out of retirement by Montreal during last season and was invited to training camp for the Impact’s Major League Soccer squad.
Eddie has a long and proud history with the Vancouver Whitecaps and the 86ers. He was in the 2006 and 2008 Championship winning sides for the Whitecaps, and was a key player in those campaigns. It really is a stunning achievement to have made the squad at his age. I though he had missed the MLS boat, but apparently not. I hope he makes an appearance on March 17 (but let’s also hope he doesn’t score!). If he does make an appearance, I, for one, will rise to give him a standing ovation.

Well said! I remember meeting ES once post-game at Swangard — was a class act all the way, and really great with the kids. His playing style kind of reminds me of a stripped down version of Eric Hassli…great in the air, and a feel for the net.

I have met him too, and you are right he is a class act. I love the man and I hope he gets to score goals against other MLS teams but not ours! I will definitely follow his progress this year.
