Jarju and the rest of the lads

Now that was fun. Our “A” team played their “B” team in the first half and won 1-0. In the second half their “A” team beat our “B” team 0-2. It is just a shame the Vancouver Whitecaps “A” team did not play the Manchester City “A” team!

But is was just a fun match after all, and I enjoyed it. It gave us the chance to have some fantasy about playing in the English Premier league, and our boys certainly gave a good account of themselves. We have to be honest and say that City played to no more than 75% of their true capacity. We saw some wonderful flashes of skill and tenacity from a star studded line-up of brilliant footballers. We would have to admit that the physical fitness of the City team was extraordinary. These guys are doing some serious time in the weight room as well as on the training pitch. The sheer physical size of the Citizens was abundantly clear when our squad of shrimps stood next to them. Vacation plans scuppered my plan for a full match report, but here are some pics:
