Owen to Manchester United?

I hope this rumour, which surfaced today, is true. I believe Micheal Owen is still a dynamite striker and one of the best finishers in the game. He was a God at Liverpool, a supersub at Real Madrid, and when healthy, was very good at Newcastle too. A stint at Manchester United would work very well indeed for Owen. In my view it would be a great match-up. With his injury troubles, Owen cannot carry the number one striker role anymore. What he can do is become a supersub, and could start the odd match as well. Alex Ferguson knows how to get the most from his players, and he is not shy about signing veterans near the end of their career. For example, take Henrik Larsson, who came out of retirement to play for Man U with great effect a few years back. Owen is fitter and younger than Larsson was.
Owen needs to get back into the England mix, and he will do if he goes to Man U.
Mark my words, Micheal Owen is still capable of holding his space on a top four team in England. I really hope this move comes off.
