Canadian defender David Edgar has moved to Premiership newbies Burnley from Newcastle United. Edgar brought us Canadians a lot of joy by scoring on Manchester United on his debut for Newcastle United. While he is moving to a smaller club, this is a great move in a number of ways. Edgar will play more first team football, against the best forwards in the Premiership, and he will get out of the sorry mess of a club that Newcastle has unfortunately become. Not much will be expected of Burnley next year, so any positive results will reflect well on Edgar and his team mates. I was looking forward to watching Burnley next year, and Edgar’s arrival there will just make it that much more tasty. All the best to Burnley, and David Edgar.
