Whitecaps 3 Portland Timbers 1
June 8, 2008 at 6:57 am | In General, Vancouver Whitecaps | Leave a CommentFinally, a convincing and exciting home performance. It all looked very luke warm as the Caps went down to an early goal by Portland. We were beginning to wonder if this was another Seattle game but Teitur made the key change at half time: he exchanged Addlery for Jordan. The Caps did not start to play until Jordan made his way on to the pitch. He was brilliant, holding up the ball and spraying passes left and right… The perfect target man. He put one off the post which Sebrango then finished for the equalizer. He was dangerous all night and deserved a goal. Nash scored on a brilliant volley which made up for many a shot over the bar we have had to endure over the years. Well in Marty! The old boys circle was complete when Valente potted the third to send the fifty or so Timbers fans home for a long 7 hour journey down the I-5. You came all this way, just to lose, just to lose!!! We are looking like running away with the league and that was the best night as Swanny for a long time. Great fun! Our defence is sorted and our offence is now starting to click. Time to start Jordan every game….
