Whitecaps 2 Seattle Sounders 2

This game looked a lot better than previous games and the Caps came out with a purpose, playing hard pressing football in what is usually a bruising encounter.   In spite of the one way traffic, the Sounders got an early goal due to some bad defending.

Jordan is not quite there yet in terms of condition but he drew a penalty which Donatelli put in with confidence.   New player Marcina and Hansen made their debuts and Marcina scored on his debut in a goal mouth scramble.

A mental lapse blew it for the Caps as they gave away a free kick in injury time and Pfannenstiel simply waved at the ball as it went past.  Sloppy defending threw this one away.  I can hardly wait to see Ze Roberto in the line up.   He is apparently a midfield warrior which we need.  With him, Nash and Clarke our midfield looks tough and skilled.  I believe we have done very well from the trade.

Overall it was a good game and there is a lot to be positive about in the run up to the playoffs.  I believe the Caps are on the verge of a tear and I predict they will win a few on the trot.
